Festivals
Alora has many festivals. The main ones are:Three Kings from the 5th of January; Carnival in February; Easter parades from Easter Thursday through to Easter Sunday; Alora Feria week during the first week in August; the Romeria in September; and Sopa Perota in October.( 3rd October 2009) Malaga has a great number of parades and festivals. These include: the carnival in February with the burying of the Boquerone on the beach, drag queen parade with fantastic costumes, and competions for the street musicial group with the best satirical song; Noche de San Juan with bonfires on the beach ( June); and the spectacular Easter parades. nearby Antequera has a blues festival for two weeks in July with lots of music in the street and bars. Also not to be missed is the September Embrujo de la Luna Mora (early in of September) in nearby Carratraca. In addition Carratraca boasts a 5 star Roman style spa with massage and treatment facilities.
